STEM club
STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics!
Our wonderful STEM club, made up of children from Years 4 and 5, has got off to a flying start. Our after-school clubs usually have a capacity of 15 children, but due to such popular demand we have had to double this capacity and start a waiting list!
In STEM club so far, children have been using STEM kits to plan and construct their very own robot for specific task, such as racing. The children have worked well in teams to carefully consider appropriate design and sizing (mathematics), before constructing their robot ready for testing (engineering). At times, they have even had to re-evaulate their designs, making small adaptations to improve them - like any good scientist!
