Statement of Intent

As a St Gregory’s scientist, you will be able to learn and investigate a whole range of scientific ideas and concepts. You will be presented with exciting opportunities to apply your problem solving and enquiry skills to a variety of situations in order to enable you to discover and learn about the science behind every day phenomena. Asking questions and investigating predictions and ideas will become second nature to you. During your experiments, you will also learn how to confidently use a range of scientific equipment to assist you in your problem solving. In addition to this, you will gain valuable knowledge regarding a range of scientific topics including the following: animals including humans; electricity and light; evolution and inheritance; and Earth and space. Throughout your time at St Gregory’s, you will build on your investigation skills, improving and refining these until you are a confident and successful young scientist.
