St Gregory's Catholic Primary School

'For every future, for every child'

Attendance

Attendance Matters

At St Gregory's we expect our children to attend school every day unless they are unwell.  Learning time is crucial to ensure every child develops their social skills, grows friendships and succeeds in their learning journey.

Please see our trusts policy on attendance for further information.

Please note that if severe weather is apparent, the following advice applies to all schools:

Schools will stay open if at all possible and when staff are able to get into school, when there is severe weather such as deep/drifting snow, very high winds or widespread flooding. Parents and carers have the responsibility of getting their children to and from school safely and need to decide if the journey is safe when severe weather affects transport or walking conditions.

Parents/carers should inform the school if their child is absent due to severe conditions making the journey unsafe. If your child has a disability and/or learning difficulty, you must take this into consideration before making the journey to school. Please consider carefully and only keep your child at home if conditions are unsafe.

On occasions, schools will need to close and a message will go out on the Kent Closures website http://www.kentclosures.co.uk

If school closes at a time within the school day, parents/carers will be informed by telephone/text/ClassDojo message. Late opening and/or early closure is a possibility in poor weather conditions.

Please keep up to date with information by looking at our letters sent home page and don't forget to download Our School App by visting Parents tab.
