St Gregory's Catholic Primary School

'For every future, for every child'

Week 2

Topic - The Great, the Bold and the Brave

This term in our Topic lessons, we have been researching into how life was different in comparison to modern times in Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. We have been focusing on Ancient Greece and how there were two main city states: Sparta and Athens. We have been researching how the daily lives of people in these two states are similar and different.

We have also been learning about Ancient Greek theatre, creating our own masks from papier-mâché in which the children then performed a piece of their own narrative using information from one of three Ancient Greek legends: Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa, Theseus and the Minotaur and Icarus and Daedelus.
