In Year 5 this week we have been busy making our Christmas decorations for the hall in time for advent to begin. Was lovely to see so many of our families in.

In Year 5 this week, we have been continuing with our Legends topic in Literacy. On Wednesday, we went on an adventure walk around the School grounds to immerse ourselves into our hero's journey they will take in our writing.

In Year 5, we spent the morning indulging ourselves in Legends. We learnt about what makes a story a legend. We went on an adventure walk around the school, which helped the children in partners to create their own legend. They then performed their legend to both classes and were offered feedback from the children and Phil our story teller.

In our English topic this term, we have been looking at the Highwayman Poem, by Alfred Noyes. We used role play in our lesson to imagine how the characters would be feeling.

In Year 5, we have been looking at the local history of World War 1 and how the town of Margate was used throughout the war. The children's work will be displayed at our World War 1 Exhibition, on Thursday 8th November.
